Movie review : Nicholas Sparks's novels

Hiya! Have you ever read Nicholas Spark's novels? Such as Dear John, A Walk to Remember or maybe Message in a Bottle? Nicholas Spark is a well-know romance novel's author. His books always hits #1 New York's Bestseller Books. Take a look on the sneak peek of the movie :

Here are the synopsis of the movie :
When a prank on a fellow high-school student goes wrong, popular but rebellious Landon Carter (Shane West) is threatened with expulsion. His punishment is mandatory participation in various after-school activities, such as tutoring disadvantaged children and performing in the drama club's spring musical. At these functions he is forced to interact with quiet, bookish Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore), a girl he has known for many years but to whom he has rarely ever spoken. Their differing social statures leave them worlds apart, despite their close physical proximity.

When Landon has trouble learning his lines, he asks Jamie for help. She agrees to help him if he promises not to fall in love with her. Landon laughs off the strange remark, believing Jamie to be the last person with whom he would ever fall in love. After all, Landon has access to the prettiest and most popular girls in town; and between her shy demeanor and old-fashioned wardrobe, Jamie doesn't exactly fall into that category.

Landon and Jamie begin practicing together at her house after school. The two form a tentative friendship, and Landon learns that Jamie has a wish list of all the things she hopes to do in her life, such as getting a tattoo and being in two places at once. One day, Jamie approaches Landon at his locker, where he is hanging out with some of his friends. When Jamie asks Landon if they are still on for practice that afternoon he smirks "In your dreams". His friends laugh and Landon's smirk falters as Jamie's face fills with betrayal and embarrassment. That afternoon Landon arrives at Jamie's house, hoping that Jamie will still agree to help him. But she refuses to open the door. When she eventually does, she sarcastically remarks that they can be "secret friends". She slams the door in his face when he agrees. Landon eventually learns the script by himself.

During the play, Jamie astounds Landon and the entire audience with her beauty and voice. Landon kisses Jamie during the play, which was not in the script, and Landon tries to get close to Jamie, but she repeatedly rejects him. It is only after a mean joke played on Jamie by Landon's friends that Jamie agrees to get to know Landon after he punches out Dean and shuns Belinda (his friends who played the joke) and takes Jamie home. The two pursue a relationship. He takes her out to dinner and dances with her, something he never did for anyone else. When he discovers that Jamie has a wish list, he sets out to help her accomplish them. One memorable date had Landon taking Jamie to the state line. He excitedly positions her on the line in just the right way, and when Jamie asks him what he's doing he tells her "You're in two places at once". Her face lights up with joy, as she realizes that Landon set out to make her impossible dreams come true.

Jamie finally tells Landon that she has terminal leukemia and has stopped responding to treatments. Landon gets upset at first. Jamie tells him the reason why she didn't tell him because she was moving on with her life and using the time she left but then Landon happened and she fell in love with him. Jamie starts to break down as she says to Landon "I do not need a reason to be angry with God." and she flees.

Landon goes to his doctor father's house and asks him to help Jamie. His father freaks out a bit and says that he needs to examine Jamie and know her medical history before he could do anything. Landon leaves in a huff.

Landon and Jamie make up the next day. They hug and he tells her that he will be there for her. Soon, word gets out about Jamie's illness. Eric, Landon's best friend comes and tells him how sorry he is and that he didn't understand. Dean and Belinda both come and apologize.

Jamie's cancer gets worse and she collapses in her father's arms. He rushes her to the hospital where he meets Landon. Landon doesn't leave Jamie's side until her father practically has to pry him away. Jamie's father sits with Jamie and tells her that "If I've kept you too close, it's because I wanted to keep you longer." Jamie tells him that she loves him and her father breaks down.

The next day, Landon comes to the hospital and sees Jamie being wheeled out of there. He asks what's going on. Jamie asks him to thank his father for her. Landon asks Jamie's father what she means. He tells him that his father is going to pay for private homecare for Jamie. Landon is stunned. Late that night, Landon knocks on his father's front door. His father answers. Landon whispers "thank you." His father hugs him. With all the exhaustion and fear billowing over, Landon breaks down in tears in his dad's arms.

Landon continues to fulfill various wishes on Jamie's list, such as building her a telescope so she can see a comet. Through this process, Landon and Jamie learn more about the nature of love. The movie ends with Jamie's death, but only after the couple are married in the same chapel as was Jamie's deceased mother, the event that topped Jamie's wish list. Landon himself becomes a better person through Jamie's memory, achieving the goals that he set out to do, like she did.

Four years later, Landon visits Jamie's father. It is obvious that Jamie helped him to focus and become a better person. For example, he reveals he has finished college and been accepted to medical school; prior to meeting her he had no plans for life after high school. He tells Jamie's father that he is sorry he could not grant Jamie's wish to witness "a miracle" before she died. Her father says "She did. It was you".

Starring Mandy Moore and Shane West

Okay, my opinion. This movie definitely is very interesting (two THUMBS UP!). Actually, I do not fancy watching romance movie. You know, all those corny lovey dovey things. I actually hate that. Teehee. And then, after I watched this movie with my sister,  Murshidah Mukhtar, I was stunned (Okay hyperbola!). No, I mean, the movie was and is still awesome. Yeah, it ain't about all those corny lovey things, you know.  But the movie is about, how a guy loves her girlfriend so much that he wants to marry her and live with her for the rest of their life and find their eternal happiness. And this movie is different and any other romance movies. Okay, first, the characters shows great differences (between the hero which is Landon Carter and the heroine, Jamie Sullivan). Landon Carter is described by the author as a rebellious teenager. Meanwhile, Jamie Sullivan is described as a well-mannered girl who goes to church every Sunday morning. And this movie shows that happy ending is always there in each and every one of us. For example, Landon finally found his way after he met Jamie. He then accepted to medical school. Before Jamie died, they even got married in a chapel. They lived happily about only for a short period of time. But then, the novel shows that, even though your spouses or your mates died, the love is still in the air. So, go and buy a DVD, watch this movie (Don't forget to cry your eyeballs out!). Or maybe, you could purchase this book at the nearest MPH Bookstore. Till then, bye!
PS : You can also watch this movie on Youtube. Happy watching (or reading - for those who hates waiting the video clips to play)

Rooftop Rant - Book Review

Hiya people! Have you read Rooftop Rant by Hlovate? If not, please, do read this book. I recommend to you guys, who are in the process of reading books.

Okay, why? Because this book is really interesting (Duhh! It is interesting. If not, why would I writing a review on this book). The plot is beautifully written. Yeah, you might get confused when you read the first chapter (Well, I know I do. Teehee). I don't have any idea what is this book about actually. But, after reading approximately about 12 pages, I can't put this book down! Seriously, this book is kind of Harry Potter series, but in Malay version, written by Malaysian author (round of applause and standing ovation for Hlovate please!)

This book is actually about 16-year-old teenage girl, Khairul Batrisya Mazni which is also known as Trisy. She faced a really huge problem which turned her into a rebel. She cut her hair short, wearing shirt with skulls and Indiana Hemp artwork on it and a hypoglycemic. Then, one day, she skipped her tuition class (Don't try this at home!) and started hanging out at the rooftop. There, she met a guy, which was Jade or Mohd Zaid Mohd Tajudin, wearing a John Lennon spectacles, sketching with his Pilot Shaker mechanical pencil.
To make this story short, they became best friends, ranting with each other. Inspire each other to be a better person. And they are near to their dream ; eternal happiness. Interesting, right? They got married with each other at last because they knew each other too well.

There are so many quotes in this novel that I like such as :

The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all - from the movie MULAN

Living in the midst of high achievers ain't all waltz

Hemingway said : Life breaks us all, but in the end we are stronger in broken places

Trisy : I hate the alter-ego lawyer too.

Jade : Be my wonderwall?
(You can use this quote while proposing to your loved ones :P )

And there is these phrases which is a real eye-catching for me.

Lekiu : Friends?
Trisy : The basic definition?
Lekiu : I'll try my best?
Trisy : Will do. By the way, Irah can be a good friend too. By all the means of the word.
Lekiu : Trisy, I seriously don't know you.
Trisy : Makes the rest of us.

Besides, this novel use bi-language which are Malay and English. So, go to the nearest  book store and grab this novel, NOW! Happy reading. (:

Here you go! Don't forget to read and give your own, personal response.

SPM's result. ):

Hiya. Especially to those who just get their SPM's results. Congratulation to those who achieved their target (I am not included because I didn't ended up well as I thought.). Sobs. But, enough about feeling hopeless, irritated or anything negative about your achievement. Believe me, there's no use even if you cried your eyeballs out! Now, let's think about the future.

As the famous saying goes :
Let bygones be bygones.

So, stop crying and think about your future. No more those sad face, okay! Chillax ( I love this word! Teehee. ). It's not yet the end of the world y'know ( When I heard people saying this to me, I was like - You now nothing, man! Butts out!). But, after a long duration of time, I think that, yes, it is true. SPM is not the end of the world, yet. Even excellent students during SPM could face failure if they don't work hard in the future. Agree? (I do!)

Enough blabbering. So, where are you heading to after this? Foundation? Matriculation? Or maybe Form 6? It doesn't matter about your choice. Just work hard, do everything full-heartedly. And, Insyaallah, Allah will grant your wish.

PS : TESL is quite interesting. Don't you want to try? ( I do!)

Emotions :)

Heya. Let's talk about emotions. Teehee. I like talking about emotions. Because, when it comes to emotions, I would be thinking about facial expressions. Yes. Smirk, frown, smile, anything. Cool eh? You know what? When I was in secondary school, my face was like this :

This is just an example. Annoying huh? I know!

But now, I am like this :

Teehee. Smile :D

Sometimes, people show emotionless face with strangers. And I am included in this category. Yeah. People always thought I am snobbish. But once they heard me talking, OMG, they cannot stop laughing. I was like, WHAT? LOL. Yeah, I am very friendly. With someone who I am familiar with. But, with strangers, I am completely vicious, arrogant and show-off ( Whatever you want to call me. I am used to that!)

Research shows that when you smile, about 15 muscles in your face move! COOL! So, let's us be grateful with Allah's greatest gift and smile. That's right! Smile. It won't hurt you even a bit.
Now, I am in UTHM, I met a guy whom I called "Heartless" because of his face. His face is completely expressionless. And, when I talked to him, he would either nod or shake his head back to forth. And I would say - Am I talking to a Charlie Chaplin? I hate to talk with people who would just stay silent and remain passive and doesn't give any response. Do you know how it feels? It feels like talking to the myself.

Thanks to Allah, after a while, he started to respond. (Anyone who befriend with me would be talkative. Believe me! Teehee.). And now, he starts to smile and frown and piss off. Finally! No more emotions-deficiency disease.

Okay, what am I trying to say is, it doesn't hurt to smile. Smile can make you a well-mannered person you know? Well, try it. But, don't smile to yourself or else people might be thinking you are suffering from either mental retardedness or brain haemorrhaging. HAPPY SMILING! :)

Why Korochan?

4th post in just a day! Maniac ( I know, high self-conscious). Do you like kids? Well, I do! In fact I love kids. More than I love my books collection (This is to show how much I care about kids.)

PS : If you abuse your children in front of me, I would kill you, IMMEDIATELY!

My cousin's son, Zhariff Luqman bin Zamri (which I call Koro-chan) just turns three months. Aww, sweet little kiddo. When I see him, I just want to kiss and give him bear-hug as much as I could. If you have a baby, I can babysit for you. :)
This is how I get the name of my blog's link. Even Koro-chan's mom doesn't agreed when I called him like that before. But, then, she also called him Koro-chan. Teehee. I told you so. Every single names I gave will be phenomenal.

Meet my dearest little kiddo KORO-Chan!

See, isn't he adorable! Small fist. Holooo!
PS : Must be inherited from his vogue Mak B! :D

World Without Bookss

Ever imagine what would this world turns to if there is no book? No magazine, no papers (my dad would be dying if there is no newspaper, one thing for sure). I like reading. Especially novels. And I am very choosy when it comes to books (Who doesn't? You spend a lot of money on certain book, but the content is just a piece of rubbish. Definitely sure you would be madly pissed eyy?)

When I read certain books, I also likes giving my personal review about the books. (Or if you like reading mags, you would be giving review on certain eye-catching articles.)

Put your hands up if you read Harry Potter (I do!). Teehee. :D . Well, as I mentioned before, I am very choosy. I read Harry Potter because the content is, I should say was very real. When JK Rowling wrote about how Lord Voldermort tried to kill Harry when he was a little boy, I could actually imagine, Harry, a one-year-old boy, hanging on the crib, looking curiously at the wand. Plus, the vocabulary in the books was spectacular! For example- flabbergasted, chivalry, male-diction. (Well, if you are a genius, you might have heard or see it somewhere. But I ain't a genius. :) ).

I also read Malay novels. But I don't read romance. Malay novels especially romance is extremely nauseous. Why am I saying this? Most of the authors of this kind of genre tends to describe the main characters in the novel as a perfectionist. As an example, if a guy - tall. long, silky hair. muscular. cool. masochist. And if a girl - alabaster skinned, slim, red lips, well mannered. So, if any normal guy or girl reading this novel, he or she would suddenly feeling inferior (Same goes to me!).

But not all Malay novel's authors are like that. Ramlee Awang Murshid's novel is cool! And then, Fatimah Syarha, Dr Farhan Hadi Mohd Taib - they wrote Islamic novels - the novels are spectacular! The plot is very interesting. You can stop once you read them. Trust me! Try read Denyut Kasih Medik.  And then, I also prefer reading novels from Hlovate. Ever heard of the name?  She uses two languages in her novels ( Malay and English) which gives a really big help for those who are still in the process of learning both languages ( same here!)

So, if you hate reading, try it. It's a lot of fun. You can read anytime. While you are bunking off, having tea with you family or when you are insomnia ( I do this most of the time. :P).
Dr. M said : " Readers today are tomorrow's leader."
So, get off from the laptop screen and start reading! - Pushy me! :)

I was told to do so. So, why not?

I met Cik Ghazally ( preferrably known as CikGhazz) today. And he was asking about my UPU's applications.
Here are what we had been talking about:

CG : So, Ainaa. Congratulations!

I was like, WTFish!

Ainaa : But, CG, why? I don't get straight A's. I only get _____toootttt____
CG : I congratulate every single students I thought who just got their result.

And I was like, oh, okay. Completely speechless, dumbfounded. Whatever you call. Yeah, flabbergasted!
And then he asked me what I want to do after this. I said, I applied for TESL, Law, Asasi Sains Hayat and Agriculture. He asked me whether I really like TESL. And, I was completely confident and said - Yeah CG! I like English ever since in primary school. But I really like TESL after hearing lectures on English Grammar from Encik Azizi Basar (He's our lecturer. Car-maniac, for Allah's sake!)

But, Sir Azizi doesn't mention about the easier part of TESL. He kept saying, "OK Aina. If you want to take TESL, you have to write an introduction about 1000words." And I was like - OK. Be optimist! Nothing is easy in this world. Even when you are starving and you want to eat, you still have to open wide your mouth, chomp the food, chew it, then you swallow it. And the process doesn't end there. Same goes to learning. Even the famous brand NIKE use the quote - NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.

When I was being confident and optimist, people might be thinking - GTH! Snobbish little rascal. Over-confident. But this is my life. I choose my own way. Yeah man, I do know that this world doesn't function according to my personal needs. But still, does it hurt to dream?
HLOVATE mentioned in her novel, Rooftop Rant about dream. She wrote : " Dare yourself to dream and dare yourself to achieve it."See! So, it is not a sin to dream. But, try achieve it. Or else you would end up becoming the 21st century Mat Jenin.

PS : The reason why I start blogging is because Cik Ghazally told me to do so. He said this is the latest way of our generation to learn. Huahhhh! :D
